What is Greenpeace?
Greenpeace is a not-for-profit campaigning organization that uses
peaceful direct action, political lobbying, scientific research
and market pressure to expose global problems. Greenpeace also researches
solutions and alternatives that are essential to a green and peaceful
future.
The primary function of the Greenpeace Canvasser is to approach members of the public to ask them to support Greenpeace through a monthly giving program to sustain ourselves as a Non-profit environmental lobby group. Fundraisers are required to average a minimum standard of $15.50 in monthly donations per day, averaged over a two-week period.
We have shifts running Mondays-Friday. Sometimes weekends. Full time employees are expected to work 10 shifts bi-weekly.

We work in a team environment. All canvassers are paired with someone else each day for safety and for company.
Vancouver—almost all of our sites are found within the city limits of Vancouver proper. Some exceptions exist, however these sites are always easily accessed by public transit.
As a Greenpeace Frontliner you will be provided with a 2 full training days to teach you the fundamentals as a fundraiser. You also will be provided with written information about Greenpeace’s history & campaigns. You are responsible for your own level of knowledge on current issues, the more you know the more capable you are to answer questions asked by the public.
Canvassers are expected to phone the office each morning to find out if the weather conditions are appropriate for canvassing. For example, we do work in Vancouver rain, but we will not work during blizzards.
Greenpeace is an open and progressive employer. We have an anti-harassment, anti-discrimination policy in place that all staff must abide by.
